Cheese and grapes. There’s just something about the duo that is the ultimate combination for me. The sweet tart burst of fresh grapes combined with creamy decadent cheese makes me happy. This Decadent Grape and Cheese Pizza is a new twist on my favorite pairing.
This crowd-pleasing creation comes together easily using both fresh ingredients and the help of a grocery store short cut. Serve it up as an elegant dinner, or slice into it at your next happy hour at home.
Ooey Gooey Delicious
Elegant dishes shouldn’t have to be complicated. When you start with beautiful ingredients like fresh grapes and rich and creamy ricotta, it doesn’t take much to make them shine. Decadent Grape and Cheese Pizza comes together quickly and is ready in less than 45 minutes.
When it comes to making pizza at home, I love using prepared pizza dough from the grocery store. They’d done the work of mixing, allowing it to rise, and resting it. All you have to do is let it come to room temperature for easier stretching.
Using store bough pizza dough as the base allows me to concentrate of building the layers of flavor in the toppings. This recipe combines not one, but three types of cheese for the ultimate luxurious bite.
Mild ricotta brings that silky mouthfeel while also acting as the sauce, or glue. Mozzarella not only delivers a mellow milky flavor, but it also offers the cheese pull we all crave when taking that first bite. Parmesan cheese brings both a nutty and salty pop that accents the sweetness of the grapes.
In addition to the combination of cheeses, this recipe utilizes a couple of aromatics to add depth and dimension to the and highlight the grapes. Rosemary brings a pop of woodsy freshness that perfumes the pizza and pairs perfectly with the pizza dough. The opposite of sweet is heat. Chili flakes give just enough spark to make this gorgeous pizza a little sassy.
Firing Up Decadent Grape and Cheese Pizza
There’s no need for a pizza oven with this over-the-top delicious pizza. With just a couple tips you can easily recreate this at home.
- Allow your store-bought pizza dough to rest before rolling it out. It’s harder to stretch when it’s straight from the refridgerator.
- Preheat your oven to 500 degrees. The high temperature will give you that crispy exterior and focaccia like pillowy interior.
- I like to cook my pizzas in a cast iron pan. If you are using cast iron, heat the skillet in the oven while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
- Mix your three cheeses together.
- Carefully remove your hot cast iron skillet from the oven and grease it. Gently place the dough in.
- Drizzle olive oil all over the pizza dough before spreading out your cheese mixture.
- Top the cheese mixture with the halved grapes, rosemary, chili flakes, and sea salt.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
