Equipment

  • 1 10" cast iron skillet

Ingredients

  • 3-4 mangoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 stick butter
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, defrosted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Heat your cast iron skillet over medium, low heat.
  • Add your sugar and allow it to melt and caramelize, careful not to let it burn. It will begin to turn golden brown as it dissolves.
  • Add your butter and stir to melt it and to combine with the caramel.
  • Remove the pan from the heat.
  • Arrange your mangos into the caramel sauce.
  • Cut your puff pastry to the size of your skillet. Gently arrange it over the top of the mangos.
  • Use a fork to create several holes in the top of your puff pastry. This will allow the steam to escape.
  • Bake the tarte for 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  • Allow the tarte to cool for several minutes.
  • Place a plate over the top of the skillet. Using both hands, flip it, inverting it onto the plate.
  • Serve with ice cream and enjoy!
