Elegant Smoked Salmon Quiche

This elegant and easy quiche combines a store-bought pie crust with savory smoked salmon and decadent Gruyere cheese.

Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 tart pan

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pie crust stre-bought
  • 4 oz smoked salmon
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp chives chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Roll the pie crust out into a tart pan.
  • Use a fork to poke holes all over the bottom of the crust to prevent the bottom from rising.
  • Spread the salmon onto the bottom of the pie crust.
  • Break the eggs into a bowl. Use a whisk to break the yolks and then whisk them well.
  • Add the milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and chives to the eggs and whisk to fully combine.
  • Pour the egg mixture over the smoked salmon.
  • Spread the Gruyere cheese over the top of the egg custard.
  • Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and the eggs are set.
