Some ingredients immediately transport you to a time and place. There's nothing like cherries that bring up images of summer and sunshine. This Fresh Summer Cherry Salsa is the easy dish you'll be making all season long!

    Fresh Summer Cherry Salsa

I love cherries this time of year, whether they're in something like my Grilled Pork Loin with Bourbon Cherry Compote, or this salsa. Not only is this salsa easy, no heating up the kitchen required, but it also gets better the longer it sits. You can make this for one dish while using the leftovers for something entirely different. If there are leftovers!

    Ingredients

This vibrant and colorful Fresh Summer Cherry Salsa only requires a handful of fresh, easy to find ingredients.

    • Cherries - You want to use fresh, rip cherries for this recipe.
    • Radishes - These add a peppery note to balance the tart-sweetness.
    • Jalapeno - You only need half for a little sassy kick.
    • Garlic clove
    • Lime juice - Fresh squeezed is best!
    • Fresh cilantro
    • Salt

How to Make Fresh Summer Cherry Salsa

Unlike many salsa recipes, this salsa doesn't even require chopping. Your food processor does all of the work for you!

Sweet yet tart, this jeweled hued salsa will have you double dipping.

    1. Cherry Time

Make sure all of your cherries are pitted. You can either do this with a knife or use a pitter.Fresh Summer Cherry Salsa

    2. Blend It Up

Add all of your ingredients for this salsa to your food processor. Pulse it in intervals until you've reached your desired consistency.Fresh Summer Cherry Salsa

    3. Chill Time

You can either chill this salsa and allow the flavors to marry or serve it right away.

    4. Serve it Up

This salsa works great with everything from your favorite tortilla chips to topping fish tacos or Grilled Steak Tacos with Blue Cheese Sauce.

Variations on Fresh Summer Cherry Salsa

This salsa is perfect on its own, but with a couple of tweaks you can customize it to your favorite flavors.

Spicy - This recipe only calls for half of a jalapeno. You can increase the heat by adding the entire jalapeno, or even a serrano pepper.

Sweet - You can add a little additional sweetness to this fruit salsa by adding a drizzle of honey.

    Equipment

Skip chopping everything by hand. Using a food processor allows you to achieve the desired texture for this salsa without having to hand chop all of the ingredients.

    Storage

This is a great recipe to make ahead of time as the flavors develop the more it sits. If you store this salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator it should last you several day.

Top Tip for Fresh Summer Cherry Salsa

This is an easy recipe to double. Make extra of this salsa because it works well on its own but is also a great addition to steak, chicken, and fish tacos, as well as all of your favorite grilled proteins.
