It’s Summer Time…and what better way to celebrate than with grilled meatballs?! Grilled meatball kabobs are ideal for family gatherings and are a favourite of children and adults. With just a few simple ingredients and less than 30 minutes, you will be well on your way to a delicious serving of grilled meatballs, guaranteed to tantalize the taste buds.

Grilled meats are healthy and have an awesome taste and grilling is something I don’t mind doing every day.

All you need to start are some frozen Italian meatballs. I am so excited today to introduce you to @cravehouseplantbasedfoods Italian Style Meatballs. This is perfect for those like myself who consider themselves flexitarians (not opposed to eating both meat and plant-based options), as well as my plant-based enthusiasts. Let’s enjoy the best of both worlds with these juicy grilled meatball skewers!

Why are grilled foods healthy?

Not only are grilled foods tasty, they are also a healthy option. Grilling is perfect for persons seeking to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including those on a weight loss journey.

The process of grilling is a better option than frying or even boiling foods because less of the nutritional value is lost. The oil required for frying for example is also not required for grilling and so that too is an added benefit.

What can grilled meatball skewers be eaten with?

Grilled meatball skewers are very versatile and may be eaten alone or combined with other food items. They are perfect as appetizers and whipped feta sauce is perfect to enhance the flavour of these decadent meatballs. You may also opt to brush some barbeque sauce onto your meatballs after placing them on skewers if you are looking to have a barbeque flavour. Sweet and sour sauce may also be used as these meatballs allow for so many variations. The recipe makes enough for three servings; however if you do not use it up in a day, you can consider using the ‘meatballs’ to create other dishes. You may want to consider adding your meatballs to a serving of spaghetti for a quick meal of spaghetti and meatballs and adding your favourite marinara sauce.

Why are these Italian plant-based meatballs a good option?

One of the benefits of preparing this dish at home is that you have control over the added ingredients that form part of the meal preparation.

Not only is the texture perfect but the meatballs cook quickly and the taste is amazing as they are seasoned just right. Additionally, these meatballs are gluten-free, contain 17 g of protein, and are made with Non-GMO pea protein.

Crave House Italian Plant-Based Meatballs obtain their colour from fruits and vegetables. They also contain calcium, iron and potassium and are cholesterol-free. What more can you ask for really?
