Deviled Eggs with Lifeway Farmer Cheese
These luxurious Deviled Eggs feature a silky-smooth filling made with tangy Lifeway Farmer Cheese and topped with delicate smoked salmon! While traditional deviled eggs rely on mayonnaise, this version uses farmer cheese for a protein-packed, probiotic-rich filling that’s both creamy and light.

Why We Love This Deviled Eggs Recipe
The secret to the most unforgettable deviled eggs lies in the farmer cheese filling. Farmer cheese has a natural tanginess pairs perfectly with the richness of the egg yolks, while fresh dill and chives add a burst of herbal freshness. After you make deviled eggs with farmer cheese, you will never go back to adding mayonnaise and mustard!
To make my deviled eggs recipe a little more special, I serve them with a triangle of smoked salmon as garnish. This turns your average deviled egg into an elegant hors d’oeuvre that is worthy of all kinds of gatherings, from Easter celebrations to game day get togethers!
Ingredients You Need
- Eggs: I like to boil my own eggs, but you can buy already hard boiled and peeled eggs if you prefer!
- Lifeway Farmer Cheese: This is the key ingredient for super a super creamy and flavorful filling!
- Dill & Chives: You will need fresh dill and chives to add an herbaceous, lightly savory flavor to the filling. I also like to garnish my deviled eggs with fresh dill!
- Lemon: You will need both lemon zest and lemon juice to brighten up the flavor.
- Olive Oil: Use a high quality olive oil for the best flavor!
- Salt & Pepper: Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Smoked Salmon: Smoked salmon on each deviled egg adds a deeper flavor, if you’d like. This is optional!
How to Make Deviled Eggs with Farmer Cheese
- Prep the Eggs: Start by boiling the eggs for 10 minutes. Transfer them to a bowl with ice water. Peel the eggs and cut both extremities, then cut them in half. Remove the hard-boiled yolk and save it in a bowl.
- Mix the Filling: In a food processor add the farmer cheese, yolks, herbs, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth. Slowly drizzle the olive oil into the food processor and continue to blend for smooth texture.
- Assemble: Place a small piece of smoked salmon into the egg whites. Spoon or pipe the filling into the egg white. Sprinkle with fresh dill and serve. Enjoy!
Tips for Success
- After boiling, immediately plunge the eggs into ice water! This will prevent them from cooking more, which can result in overcooked yolks.
- Use a piping bag with a large star tip for professional-looking results. If you don’t have that on hand though, you can use a ziplock bag with the tip of a corner cut off!
- Garnish with your choice of ingredients. I like to add a little bit of smoked salmon, but you can garnish with crispy bacon bits, jalapeños, or everything bagel seasoning!
Serving Suggestions
These elegant deviled eggs shine as part of any sophisticated spread. Serve them as part of an Easter brunch spread with fresh bagels and cream cheese, million dollar bacon, and a smoked salmon Dutch baby pancake!
They also pair well with different appetizer options, from my spring charcuterie board to my artichokes with mustard vinaigrette and my smoked salmon appetizer!
